Reckershausen: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Reckershausen, the “Reckershäuser Busch” Traumschleifchen circular trail begins and ends at the nature playground and barefoot trail; parking is available at the barbecue hut and leisure area. Nature

Along the Traumschleifchen trail, information boards provide information about forest flora and fauna, history, and geology. It can be combined with the nature playground and barefoot trail as an option for a family outing.

Cycling

A variant of the Hunsrück-Moselle Cycle Route runs directly through Reckershausen from Kirchberg to Völkenroth. A connecting cycle path from Reckershausen via the Reckershausener Höhe to Wüschheim and through the Külzbachtal leads directly to the Schinderhannes Cycle Route.

The 38-kilometre cycle route between Emmelshausen and Simmern/Hunsrück is entirely paved, has no inclines, and runs along the former route of the Hunsrück Railway.

Culture and History

St. Thekla in Reckershausen was built between 1923 and 1925 according to plans by Cologne architect Eduard Endler. The high altar in St. Thekla dates from 1723 and originally came from St. Afra Abbey in Trier. Thekla can be visited during opening hours.

Historical connections between Reckershausen and Ravengiersburg Abbey are documented. The notable more recent history also includes the women's resistance camp of 1983 against the stationing of missiles and military construction projects.
