Hümmerich is located in the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park. The municipality includes the districts of Oberhümmerich and Niederhümmerich, situated at elevations of approximately 360 and 320 metres respectively. The Hümmericher Bach flows westwards down into the Dasbachtal valley. The lowest point in the municipality is located in the southwest, at 207 metres above sea level.

Hümmerich’s “Dicke Eiche” (“Thick Oak”), an oak planted around 1700, is officially registered as a natural monument of Rhineland-Palatinate.
