A small shrine was first built on the site of today’s St. Apollonia Chapel in 1663. A small chapel followed in 1756; the present-day chapel was built in 1849. The three dates trace a progression from the first religious building to today’s place of worship. Local involvement also has a tangible history: in 1994, the boards of the then local associations joined with the municipal council under the name “Apollonia Association” to work on improving the village. The same park also has a Cretan labyrinth made of native red beeches. The old quarry is another special feature: it has been partly uncovered again and can be visited.
