Ulmet: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The 7 Gorges Trail starts in the center of Ulmet at “Dorfbrigg”. The challenging circular route passes seven gorges over 8 kilometers and includes approximately 310 meters of ascent. The trail runs mostly along natural paths; suitable footwear and a certain level of fitness are required. From the highest point, there are views across the central Glan Valley and its mountains. In the Kimmelings Gorge, the trail forms the municipal boundary between Erdesbach and Ulmet; there is also a small waterfall there.

Nature

The wild garlic gorge is considered unique in the region in spring. The 122-hectare Wartekopf nature reserve in Ulmet contains thermophilous dry oak forests, rocks, dry grasslands, beech forests, near-natural streams, and species-rich nutrient-poor meadows.

Culture

Ulmet has long been recognized as a tourism municipality. The Gallus Market and the Mutton Festival are known both regionally and beyond the region.

The Flurs Chapel of St. Florus is considered one of the oldest churches in the central Glan Valley. It contains a Romanesque chancel tower, a Baroque nave, and a historic Stumm organ; the Kappeler Bridge from the 18th century is located nearby. The August Drumm Museum Room in Ulmet presents previously unpublished sculptures and reliefs by the sculptor Prof. August Drumm, as well as images and information about his work. Hiking

The guided Ulmet–Esels Tour allows children to ride donkeys from Erdesbach, while adults walk back to Ulmet along the Glan, over Brückenberg and the Wartekopf. The Ulmet–Kusel hiking route offers the opportunity to visit the Erdesbach goat cheese dairy in Erdesbach.
