Münchhof is older than Hochspeyer and belonged to Otterberg Abbey until 1564. Agriculture and sheep farming were carried out in Münchhof.
Nature
Numerous springs emerge on both sides of the valley in Springental. Münchhofer Fels is a mushroom-shaped rock formation with a stone slab approximately 12 meters in diameter. The Hochspeyer Chronicle describes Münchhofer Fels as a site of historical interest.
