Wolsfeld: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Old St. Hubertus Church has been a pilgrimage church since the 15th century. It has a Romanesque chancel tower and a two-aisled hall built around 1500. Inside is a polychrome late Renaissance stone altar dating from 1620, attributed to the circle around Trier sculptor Hans Ruprecht Hoffmann.

The New St. Hubertus Church is a hall church from 1926 in post-classical forms. Wolsfeld Castle, also called a fortified castle, is a manor house from the 17th century that was built for the Lords of Enschringen; its door lintel bears the year 1664. The St. Hubertus Fountain and St. Hubertus Cross in Wolsfelderberg date from 1691.

More than 50 village renewal measures were implemented, primarily in the historic village center around Wolsfeld Castle. Several buildings in Wolsfeld received the Baukultur EIFEL award.

Trails

The Bitburger LandGang Heritage Tour is an easy route of around 4.3 kilometers that takes about one hour and begins and ends at the church parking lot in Wolsfeld. The tour also includes a view in the direction of Wolsfelderberg. As a visitor tip, it highlights the production of Eifel spirits and liqueurs.

The Baukultur EIFEL Themed Trail is an easy, 487-meter-long route from Europastraße at the church to Holsthumer Straße in Wolsfeld. The Heritage Tour is described as suitable for families with children; the route information also mentions a playground in Wolsfeld, as well as a meadow with llamas and alpacas.
