Giesdorf is also home to the St. Apollinaris branch chapel at Hauptstraße 25. Its altar niche contains a wooden figure of Saint Apollinaris; the foundation stone of the chapel was laid in 1933.

The Nims Cycle Path is a 64.4-kilometre, moderately difficult cycling route from Weinsheim near Prüm to Irreler Mühle. The northern section runs from Weinsheim near Prüm through the Schönecken Switzerland to Bitburg and includes steeper climbs and descents.

The valley of the Schönecken Switzerland is a botanical nature trail with information boards. The Schönecken Panorama Trail runs as a circular route through the Schönecken Switzerland nature reserve and the Altburgtal valley. The Schneifel Trail is a day hike from Prüm to Schönecken through the Schönecken Switzerland, while the Prümer Land Tour Route 2 runs as a circular route through the Schönecken Switzerland nature reserve.
