Haserich: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Haserich lies at an elevation of around 440 metres above sea level in the source basin of the Flaumbach stream. A high forest covering approximately 140 hectares forms a semicircle around the village’s agricultural land from north to south. Culture

Haserich’s archaeological history is described as being around 4,000 years old. Archaeological finds from Haserich included a coffin with a spearhead. A Roman head found in the fields of Haserich is part of the village coat of arms.

The steel bell in St. Michael’s Chapel was probably cast in 1946 at the Brockscheid bell foundry in the Eifel. A large part of the Celtic Trail follows paths laid out by the Celts and later taken over and extended by the Romans.

The small chapel next to the community centre was built in 1932 and dedicated to Saint Michael; the church was renovated in 1974 and its Pietà was repainted. St. Michael’s Chapel in Haserich can be viewed from the outside at any time.

Hiking Trails

Haserich is part of the Kirchspiel hiking route around Blankenrath. On a circular route of approximately 20 kilometres, it connects Haserich with Reidenhausen, Panzweiler, Walhausen, Schauren and Hesweiler. The route offers twelve selectable sections ranging from 2 to 20 kilometres. It connects parish churches and village chapels and reflects the historic ecclesiastical area served by a parish, known as a Kirchspiel.

The Nahe–Moselle Celtic Trail branches off near Haserich towards Senheim. The Celtic Trail runs from Kirn via Kirchberg to Treis-Karden. A hill near the Celtic Trail offers a view of the site of a former Roman roadside village.

Orientation

Blankenrath is about 1 kilometre from Haserich and offers shops, medical care, a pharmacy, banks and a petrol station. Bus routes 722 and 750 connect Bullay railway station or Zell (Mosel) Lindenplatz with Blankenrath, a starting point for the Kirchspiel hiking route.
