Spabrücken: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Spabrücken can then continue their accommodation search. Spabrücken is associated with a pilgrimage tradition that probably began in the 14th century and is connected with the Black Madonna of the Soon. An annual pilgrimage on foot from Oberheimbach to Spabrücken has taken place at the beginning of September for more than 360 years.
Culture
The Church of the Assumption of Mary was built between 1731 and 1736 in the Baroque style. It preserves architectural references to a Gothic predecessor building dating from 1359. In the centre of the high altar stands a enthroned Madonna from the 14th century; a Pietà in a niche on the left side of the church also dates from the 14th century.
The church interior includes life-size wooden figures on the high altar, the side altars and the wall brackets. The rest of the church's furnishings were apparently made on site by Franciscans in the 18th century. Directly north of the church are monastery buildings constructed in the 1720s.
Hiking
Spabrücken is a stop on the Nahe Höhenweg trail. Its final stage, approximately 24 kilometres long, begins here and leads to Bingen am Rhein. The Bad Sobernheim–Spabrücken section is approximately 22.5 kilometres long and takes around five hours.
The pilgrimage route from Oberheimbach to Spabrücken provides another trail connection. The route is 20 kilometres long and passes through the Kreuzkapelle, Drei Steine, Daxweiler, the Guldenbach Valley, Seibersbach, Dörrebach and the Aschborner Hof.

Spabrücken Monastery offers stays of several days, one week or longer. The “Monastery for a While” programme enables visitors to live with the small community for a week, a month or longer.
