Cycling Routes
The Nahe Cycle Route runs through the area of the Rüdesheim collective municipality and is part of a route approximately 135 kilometres long from Saarland to the Rhine near Bingen. A feeder route from Bad Kreuznach leads to the start of the Kleinbahn circular cycle route on the outskirts of Rüdesheim an der Nahe. The Celtic Trails mountain biking circuit is also located in the collective municipality. It is 36 kilometres long, includes 850 metres of elevation gain and consists of nine trails.
Culture and History
The Protestant Church at Nahestraße 36 is a late Gothic hall church, formerly dedicated to St George, which was remodelled in the Baroque style. The church in Rüdesheim was used jointly by different denominations until the 18th century and is open during worship services. A Baroque half-timbered house dating from 1699 is located at Nahestraße 30. Rüdesheim is also documented in a deed from 1100 in connection with Sponheim Abbey. Remains of a Roman villa rustica are recorded on Pommernstraße.
