St. Lambertus Church and Local History
St. Lambertus Church in Kirchtimke was rebuilt in 1739 because the earlier church had become too small and dilapidated. A remarkable story is connected with a renovation in 1962, when relics were found inside a hollow oak crucifix. The crucifix was wrapped in cloth and inscribed with the names of Saints Lambertus and Pankratius; sand from the Holy Land was also found with it. The relic gave the church its present name.
