Culture and History
In Wathlingen, St. Mary's Church features building fabric dating back to the 14th century. The town's history also includes a fire in 1695 that destroyed most of the village of Wathlingen, including the rectory and the widows' house. The Wathlingen collective municipality also maintains a town partnership with Truskavets in western Ukraine. This partnership was formalized through partnership documents signed in Wathlingen and Truskavets in 2018.

The Nature Contact Station in Wathlingen offers a garden and project areas for nature observation and recreation. It includes a Green Classroom for practical environmental education.
