Village churches and history
The Flieth church ruins are the remains of a fieldstone church built in 1268, which burned down to its walls in 1945. Its history differs from that of the fieldstone church in Stegelitz, which has stood since the 13th century. The Stegelitz church also has a rib-vault ceiling, added during renovations. It is the only one of its kind in a village church in the Uckermark and is considered a noteworthy feature of architectural and historical significance. Guided tours of Stegelitz village church are available by arrangement.
Brewery in Stegelitz
Another special feature of the village is the “Die braut” village brewery in Stegelitz. Beer is brewed on site and offered in bottles and kegs. The selection includes regular brews and seasonal specialty beers that change throughout the year. The brewery also offers tours and beer tastings.
