The Forest Adventure Trail follows an approximately 4.2-kilometre circular route through the forest. Information boards and stations explain the various functions of the forest; the trail also includes a forest playground for children. The trail is accessible year-round and is suitable for wheelchair users and prams.

I would like to rent a holiday apartment in Wendelstein and discover the Forest Adventure Trail, St. George's Church and the Woodturning and Metal Spinning Museum.

Nature

The circular route through the Wernloch starts at the car park on Nürnberger Straße by the Old Canal in Wendelstein and is approximately 4.5 kilometres long. Another hike through Wendelstein, Kleinschwarzenlohe and Kornburg starts and ends at the Wendenbrunnen fountain in the centre of Wendelstein.

The Five Rivers Cycle Route runs parallel to the Old Canal in Wendelstein. The “Mills & Industry” cycle route is an approximately 45-kilometre loop of the Five Rivers Cycle Route through Wendelstein, Schwanstetten and Rednitzhembach. The Schwarzach forms a loop around the rock near St. George's Church.

Culture

The Gothic St. George's Church is Wendelstein's oldest building. As a fortified church, it served as a refuge for the population in times of war. Pfinzing Castle was built in the 16th century by the Nuremberg patrician Pfinzing family as a country residence.

The paper mill, together with the manor house, factory building and grinding mill, forms an early industrial factory complex dating from the 17th to the 19th century. The half-timbered house by the fountain is a complex dating from 1705 comprising a farmhouse, stable and barn; it can only be viewed from the outside.

Badhausplatz provides steps down to the Schwarzach and information about the former bathhouse. The Woodturning and Metal Spinning Museum, housed in the former waterworks building, offers demonstrations on the lathe. The museum also preserves products, tools and machines from traditional crafts.

During the summer serenades, musical and literary artists provide entertainment at Badhausplatz on every Sunday in August. The Jazz & Blues Open takes place annually in Wendelstein during the week around 1 May. The Jegelscheune offers a varied cultural programme.
