Culture and History
Kissing is a municipality in the Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg, located around five kilometres south of the Augsburg city boundary.
The Roman Via Julia ran through Kissing from north to south. The long-distance road connected Augsburg with Salzburg and had a branch via the Fern Pass.
Two small Roman forts were built on the northern edge of the municipality during the early Roman period.
