Discover springs, streams and trails
The 1000 Springs Trail leads to the springs of the Stockacher Aach, which flows into Lake Constance. Along the way, cool spring-fed streams, green spring marshes, deep ravines and lively streams shape the natural experience. If you want to reach the starting point by bus, bus route 100 between Stockach and Mühlingen stops right there. This is particularly useful if you want to combine your tour with a bus ride.
Another way to get to know the landscape is the easy circular route to the Stockach Heidenhöhlen caves. It is 9.82 kilometres long, leads above the Zizenhausen district to the sandstone caves and follows the 1000 Springs Trail. The caves and the trail give the route a clear destination; the stated distance helps you fit the tour into your day’s plans. If you are interested in the spring landscape, you can choose between the 1000 Springs Trail and the circular route to the Heidenhöhlen caves.
Town museum and special collections
The Stockach Town Museum preserves more than 3,000 objects relating to art, culture and local history. The collection of Zizenhausen figurines is particularly distinctive: with more than 650 figurines and over 1,200 moulds, the museum has the world’s largest collection of these widely distributed figurines. A visit to the museum is an opportunity to discover a notable cultural feature of Stockach alongside its natural landscape.
The museum has set opening hours: it is open Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed on Mondays. This makes it easy to plan your museum visit for a suitable day of the week. If you want to combine different interests, you can treat the museum and a visit to the town garden as separate stops during your stay in Stockach.
The town garden and seasonal highlights
The town garden lies in the heart of Stockach. In summer, its Mediterranean planting, a short stroll and places to sit and relax offer a peaceful break. It also has a large playground with a variety of play equipment, space to run around and picnic areas for family outings. Families can enjoy both room to play and a place to share a meal in the town garden.
The Loretto Chapel is also open seasonally: it is closed from November to the end of April and open daily from 1 May to 1 November. If the chapel is of interest to you, take these dates into account when choosing your travel days.

Stockach has an extensive network of cycling routes to and around Lake Constance, as well as many routes into the idyllic surrounding countryside.
