The Archaeological Hegau Museum presents the lives of the people who inhabited the Hegau from the end of the last Ice Age to the early Middle Ages. Hohentwiel: nature and hiking

Hohentwiel is a 108-hectare protected habitat for rare animal and plant species. The protection of this habitat is therefore also a defining aspect of the destination. For hiking enthusiasts, the premium hiking trail “Hohentwieler” offers a 7.5-kilometre circular route across the heights of Hohentwiel and around the “Staufen”.

Getting there and choosing accommodation

The Hohentwiel taxi (line 8) runs only on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, from 8:05 am to 7:05 pm at 60-minute intervals. It connects Singen station with the Hohentwiel information centre via the Rathaus/Stadthalle and Landesgartenschau stops, and then returns. If you plan to use this service, check the current timetable before your trip.
