Activities

The stroller trail at Mont Lachat is an easy 1.2-kilometre route that takes around 45 minutes and is accessible by chairlift. The Sentier des Arpelières is a family-friendly hike where visitors can discover the wildlife of a peat bog.

Le rocher d'escalade des Mottets is a freely accessible adventure climbing site reached from Crest-Voland via a path descending towards Ugine. Escaladventure du Nant Rouge is an adventure course system open all year round that runs through the Nant Rouge canyon.

The Tour du Village de Crest-Voland circuit passes through hamlets where local history and traditional architecture come together, and can be explored by electric touring bikes. The Tour des Secrest No. 11 runs from the hamlet of Cernix to the main village of Cohennoz.

The Lachat peak, Le Treu peak and Le Bisanne mountain are located in the immediate vicinity of Crest-Voland. The Mont Bisanne peak is located near Crest-Voland.

Culture and History

The Eglise de Crest-Voland was built between 1863 and 1866 on the site of a predecessor building dating from the 16th century. It features neo-Gothic architecture, stained-glass windows installed in 1913, altars made of white Carrara marble and a carillon with ten bells.

The Chapelle du Crest has existed since 1677 and was rebuilt around 1850. It features a polygonal bell tower, a neoclassical altar and a gilded statue of the Virgin Mary.

The Moulin Ainoz was both a mill and the site of a thriving workshop producing wooden handles, and is a living testament to the history of Crest-Voland Cohennoz. The heirs of Moulin Ainoz restored the historic mill to make it accessible to the public.

The wider region around Crest-Voland is home to the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Tamié, Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard and Fort de Tamié.
