The Bec Rouge mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise. The Pointe du Four and Mont Turia peaks are also located in the surrounding area. The Aiguille Rouge peak is likewise in the immediate vicinity of Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise.
Culture and History
The Chapelle Ste-Brigide was listed as a historic monument on 3 April 1992. Le Monal is a site classified for its natural and cultural-historical interest, located at an altitude of 1,874 m. The site consists of traditional mountain chalets from the 18th and 19th centuries, grouped around its chapel, which have preserved their authenticity.
Le Monal can only be reached on foot from the Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise resort and via several hiking trails.
Activities
The Falaise du Monal climbing area comprises 38 routes with difficulty levels ranging from 4c to 7b; the climbing area is 15 to 35 m high. The “La boucle des villages” e-mountain bike route passes through Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise as well as the remarkable hamlets of La Masure and Le Miroir.
A guided architecture walk leads through the hamlets of La Masure and Le Miroir and introduces visitors to their typical Savoyard architecture.
