The Château de Pizay in Saint-Jean-Dʼardières houses the two paintings “La Naissance de Minerve” and “Minerve et Vulcain” from the first half of the 18th century. The works are protected as objects of cultural heritage and were classified on 25 June 1996. The French gardens of the Château de Pizay were created by André Le Nôtre in 1692. The Château also includes 80 hectares of vineyards spread across several appellations.

History and gardens
The gardens of the Château de Pizay feature a life-size chess game made up of 32 topiary figures. Admission to the gardens is free. The Château de Pizay was first mentioned in the records of the Abbey of Cluny in 1030.
The Sur l'Air du Temps school offers 15-minute introductory flights, 30-minute sightseeing flights and one-hour flight excursions. It also offers introductory and advanced training courses for ultralight aircraft and hot-air balloons.
Wine
The tasting area of the Domaine du Château de Pizay wine centre allows visitors to discover the Château’s wines.
The Domaine de Grande Ferrière offers tastings and sales of Morgon, Côte de Brouilly, red, rosé and white Beaujolais wines, “Cuvée réservée” made in the traditional style, as well as grape juice. The estate has been run by the family for four generations and passes on its knowledge of production and winemaking at the estate itself.
By appointment, the Domaine du Château Cambon offers wine tastings and sales of Beaujolais, Beaujolais Blanc, Brouilly, Fleurie and Morgon.
The Cave de Bel-Air Vinescence in Saint-Jean-d'Ardières offers wine tastings and wine sales at its wine cooperative cellar, founded in 1929.
