Morancé reveals itself through its buildings, springs and festivals. One of the defining landmarks is Notre-Dame de l’Assomption, a Romanesque church from the 12th century. Its apse has been partially protected as a historic monument since 19 January 1926. The Chapelle de Beaulieu, a neo-Gothic funerary chapel commissioned in 1830, is also part of the town’s history.

Nature and Trails

In Morancé, the Sentier du bief leads to small lakes surrounded by protected areas; to the east, the municipality is bordered by the Azergues. The circular trail “Le Panorama” starts at Place de l’église on the esplanade of Morancé’s town hall and church.

The Source de Fontjards is a karst spring. A 22-metre-long structure stands beside it and was completely restored in 2024; the present structure was built in 1861 from masonry stone.

Festivals

Morancé’s Fête des conscrits takes place on the first weekend in April and includes a fancy-dress procession with floats through the village as well as a traditional ball.

Those who have chosen Morancé as their travel destination combine their stay with the desire to rent a holiday apartment.
