Culture and history
The historic fabric of the town includes the ruins of the Château de Châtillon d'Azergues, which were listed as a historic monument in 1937. The Château de Châtillon d'Azergues is a former castle ruin dating from the 12th century; the oldest part of the fortress of Châtillon dates from the 11th century.
The medieval centre of Châtillon preserves narrow streets, vertical passageways, as well as protected Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements and components dating from the 17th century. The parish church of Divo Camillo features a neoclassical style with a pediment, oculus, architrave and pilasters.
The religious architecture includes the Chapelle Saint-Barthélémy, also known as Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours, which was listed as a historic monument in 1862, as well as the Chapelle Notre-Dame du Bon Secours, a Romanesque chapel dating from the 12th century with a double portal from the 15th century. Landscape and trails
The landscape around Châtillon includes valleys, hills, slopes covered with vineyards, wooded ridges and meadows between the Brévenne and the Alix stream.
