The circular trail at the Barrage de Thurins is 5.6 km long and is considered a two-hour hike. Numerous quiz stations along the circular trail provide information about the vegetation and animals of the region. The Circuit des vergers is a 9 km circular trail with 280 metres of elevation gain that passes through orchards and follows the Way of St. James, the GR765. It can be reached via TCL line C202, getting off at the “Thurins Le Pont” stop.

The Circuit VTT 9 – La marmite du diable is designated as a mountain-bike circular route in Thurins. The circular route is 21.2 km long and includes 700 metres of elevation gain; it starts at the Piscine car park in Le Grand Moulin, Thurins.

Culture and History

Weaving shaped village life in Thurins from 1830 to 1965. In 1836, 117 velvet weavers worked at home in Thurins, including 73 men and 44 women. The “Saint Martin” statue in the Saint-Martin church in Thurins has been protected as cultural heritage since 15 February 1982.
