Paths and Mobility

The Voie Verte du Beaujolais is accessible on foot, by bicycle and on roller skates. It is suitable for people with reduced mobility; motorised vehicles are excluded. In addition, the bus service between Belleville and Beaujeu has a stop in Cercié.

Culture

On the left bank of the Ardières, approximately 1 km northeast of the municipality of Cercié, stands the Chapelle de Saint Ennemond, a pilgrimage chapel. Its dating is uncertain; it dates from before the end of the 10th century.

In the vicinity of Cercié is the Abbatiale de l'Assomption de Belleville, a historic site. The Musée Claude Bernard and the Artothèque du Musée Paul-Dini, both museums, are also located nearby. The Artothèque du Centre d'Arts Plastiques de Villefranche-sur-Saône is a closed museum there.

A Romanesque church from the 12th and 13th centuries can be visited along the Voie Verte du Beaujolais. A former railway station can also be visited along the route.

Landscape

The mountains of Citadelle, Grand Crêt, Montagne de Rochefort and Grenet are located in the vicinity of Cercié. The route Le chemin des mûriers – Loop 6.1 runs along a former railway line and follows the Ardières, a tributary of the Saône.

At Mont Brouilly there is a geoscope described as an iconic site of the Beaujolais Geopark.
