Landscape
The Statue de la Madone stands on the village’s highest hill and offers a remarkable viewpoint. The Madone can be reached via around one hundred steps on the Chemin du Mont Saint-Jean behind house number 119; the return journey also follows these steps. From Mont Saint-Jean near the Madone, you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama.
The botanical plantings at Espace Pierres Folles comprise a collection of 527 species. Fossilea also includes a landscaped four-hectare park with a path featuring, among other things, a prehistoric camp, animal sculptures and geological panels. The outdoor path leads to a geological fault that bears witness to the formation of the Alps.
Trails
The hiking route from Fossilea follows a ridge trail to the center of Saint-Jean-des-Vignes and offers views of the Saône Valley. The hike at Espace Pierres Folles begins and ends in Saint-Jean-des-Vignes; a duration of 2 hours is indicated for it.
