Culture
The Eglise de Viry was built in 1844 in the neoclassical basilica style. Its square bell tower has clocks on three sides. Inside, two former seigneurial pews have been preserved; above the family crypt is the carved coat of arms of the Viry family.
La chapelle d'Humilly is a chapel from the 13th century dedicated to Saint Eusebius. Its architectural features include a pointed-arch portal made of molasse, a bell tower, and massive ashlar buttresses. During its restoration in 1973–1974, the foundations of an earlier church from the 5th century were uncovered.
The Musée Barbier-Mueller is located in the vicinity of Viry. The Abbaye de Bonlieu, a historic site, and the Palais des Nations, a palace, are also nearby. Further afield in the region around Viry is the Abbaye de Chezery, a historic site.

Les Marais de la Rippe is a ZNIEFF wetland where nine protected amphibian species have been recorded. Three newt species can be observed there: Triton palmé, Triton alpestre, and Triton crêté.
La Vigne des Pères is a biotope in Viry where four snake species, including Vipera aspis, and four lizard species have been recorded. They are all listed as protected animals.
