The Réserve Naturelle de Passy nature reserve covers 1,720 hectares in Passy and ranges from 1,347 to 2,901 metres in elevation. The geological contrast between limestone and siliceous rocks leads to a great diversity of habitats, including meadows, heathlands and wetlands. Chamois, ibex, marmots and bearded vultures live in the Réserve Naturelle de Passy.

Lac Vert is a glacial lake at an altitude of 1,200 metres, with emerald-green shimmering water and the status of a classified natural area. From the Plaine-Joux car park, it can be reached via an easy walk of approximately 30 minutes.

Geographical Location

Passy Plaine-Joux lies at an altitude of 1,340 to 1,740 metres, opposite Mont Blanc. In summer, Passy Plaine-Joux is a starting point for hikes, mountain-bike tours and paragliding flights. The Tour des Fiz begins in Passy Mont-Blanc and can be completed in two to four days, depending on the route.

Culture

The Église Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce was fully classified as a historic monument by decree of 11 June 2004. Construction began in 1937 and was completed in 1946. Its interior and exterior design form a museum of modern art, featuring works by Fernand Léger, Georges Braque and Henri Matisse, among others.

The former sanatoriums on the Plateau d’Assy were built between the 1920s and 1930s and are considered remarkable cultural heritage sites worth discovering. Several paths make it possible to approach the former sanatorium buildings while enjoying views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding valley.

The Route de la Sculpture connects the plain with the Plaine-Joux ski area along 15 kilometres of mountainside. The Route de la Sculpture Contemporaine currently features 19 sculptures. The Route de la Sculpture à Passy is presented as an open-air museum. A viewpoint offers a view of the Cascade de Cœur.

Allow around one hour to visit the Jardin des Cimes; the tour covers three hectares and includes around twenty areas combining art, nature and gardens.

The Base de Loisirs du Lac de Passy stretches for more than one kilometre and covers an area of 50 hectares. It offers paddleboarding and pedal boating, as well as the Aquapark du Mont-Blanc with floating inflatable play structures.
