Chavanod: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Sentier des Gorges du Fier crosses a large part of Chavanod, is 6.7 km long and takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. It connects Chavanod and Lovagny and provides access to the Gorges du Fier and Château de Montrottier. The trail begins at the Salle de l’Étang car park, runs along an open slope and offers views from Mont Veyrier to La Tournette, as well as parts of the Aravis range all the way to the summit of Mont Blanc. Along the Sentier des Gorges du Fier, visitors will find elements of rural Savoyard architecture, including farms, former fortified houses such as the Montagny town hall and a bread oven.

The L’Esty Auditorium is intended for hosting cultural events. It has 156 seats, sound and lighting control facilities, and a 6 × 8 metre screen. Visitors arriving at the L’Esty Auditorium by car can use the free car park near the Salle polyvalente. The church of Chavanod was built in 1882.
History
Chavaroche Castle is now partly in ruins and was besieged in 1344. Archaeological excavations at Crêt d’Esty uncovered rock pits and circular structures that probably date from the 1st or 2nd century BC. A stone dedicated to Jupiter and Roman graves at Crêt d’Esty attest to the Gallo-Roman presence in Chavanod. Maclamod consists of medieval fortified houses that have now been converted into homes.
