Pont-de-Labeaume combines river valleys, volcanic landscapes and remarkable evidence of the area's history. The village is located at the confluence of the Lignon, Fontaulière and Ardèche valleys. Opposite Château de Ventadour, basalt flows can be seen along the river. These are superimposed lava flows from the Ray-Pic/Coupe de la Fialouse and Souilhol volcanoes.

History at the bridge and church square

The bridge in the village of Pont-de-Labeaume was built between 1725 and 1735 to provide access to the hamlet of Nieigles. The village of La Baume received its current name after the bridge over the Ardèche was built. The bridge therefore represents both a tangible connection to the hamlet of Nieigles and an important point of reference in the village's history.

Notre-Dame de Nieigles is a Romanesque church and has been classified as a historical monument since 1975. The oldest part dates from the 11th century, while the Romanesque bell tower was not built until the 17th century. Pont-de-Labeaume's church square is also home to a Gallo-Roman milestone that is classified as a historical monument.
