Along the Les gorges de la Beaume route, densely vegetated areas alternate with mineral-rich landscapes; otters and beavers live in this landscape. The Les gorges de la Beaume route is a difficult, 17.39-kilometre GRP circular hike.
There are numerous paths around the Tour de Brison that can be explored on foot; some are also suitable for mountain biking or horseback riding. The Tour de Brison area includes two orientation boards.
Culture and history
The Château de Versas dates from the 15th century and has a Renaissance façade and an octagonal tower. The tower of the Château de Versas has been listed as a historic monument by decree since 31 May 1927. The Château de Versas is privately owned but can be visited during Heritage Days.
The Pont du Gua sur la Beaume is located in Beaumont and Sanilhac and dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. La Chapelette was built between 1740 and 1800 from sandstone. The remains of Château Mont Brison date from the 18th century and are located at an altitude of 788 metres.
The Church of Saint-Pierre stands in the centre of the village of Sanilhac and is open to the public. It was built on the remains of an 11th-century Romanesque church.
