Every year at the end of August, Lussas hosts the États généraux du film documentaire festival, giving the village a notable cultural event.

Culture and History

In mid-August, the États généraux du film documentaire event turns the village of Lussas into a meeting place for encounters and exchange surrounding auteur cinema for audiences and professionals alike for one week.

The Oppidum de Jastres-Nord is a Gallic oppidum of the éperon barré type. The accessible side is protected by a monumental wall built in three construction phases. Additional protection has been obtained for the Jastres Nord site through biotope protection orders. The Dolmen of Mias is a Neolithic dolmen.

Landscape

Lussas lies at the foot of the Massif du Coiron and borders the Plateau des Gras.

Routes and Activities

The “Oppidum et dolmens” circular route is 12 km long and easy. It can also be ridden by mountain bike at an easy level.

The Randoland circuit in Lussas is designed for children and is a playful family hike during which the village’s secrets can be discovered. The materials are adapted for the age groups 4 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 and over. They can be downloaded free of charge or are available at the Office de Tourisme Berg et Coiron.

The permanent orienteering course “Parcours permanent d’Orientation – Découverte” comprises ten stations in the centre of Lussas. It is a free activity available year-round. The Site d'escalade de Chabanne climbing site comprises 157 climbing routes for advanced climbers.
