History

The present-day church of Laurac-en-Vivarais replaced the former castle on the rock and was built around 1840. The washhouse of Laurac-en-Vivarais, at the foot of the church rock, now houses two sandstone millstones from an old mill in Largentière. Local history is represented here both by a building and by a preserved piece of equipment.

Tradition

The Fête votive of Laurac-en-Vivarais takes place on the second weekend of August and includes a traditional donkey race. The fixed date and the distinctive feature give the local tradition a clear temporal and thematic framework.
