Coux: Holiday apartments and houses

The Dragonnades Route runs through Coux. It is currently marked and divided into four stages for a hike. The route can be explored on foot, by mountain bike, by car, or by bicycle.

Culture

The Église Saint-Pierre de Lubilhac in Coux features construction phases from the 11th, 12th, and 14th centuries and is partially protected as a historic monument. Its six window openings are decorated with stained-glass windows by Gérard Garouste, installed in 2011.

Hiking

The Coux–La Jaubernie hike is a moderately difficult circular route that takes 2 hours and covers 4.8 kilometres. There is a car park for this hike at Place d’Onclaire in Coux.

Nature

The La Jaubernie site comprises eight caves that were later transformed into fortified dwellings, some of them integrated into the rock. The caves are now privately owned; their architecture combines domestic and defensive features such as loopholes and a machicolation.

Bats can be found in the caves of La Jaubernie, where they find peace, coolness, and humidity. The path to the La Jaubernie site leads through the Ouvèze Valley.
