Culture and History
The history of the village includes the former Templar commandery in Joucas, parts of which are protected as a historic monument. Its façades and roofs were protected by a decree dated August 5, 1976.
The Church of Saint John the Baptist was built in the 18th century to replace the former Notre-Dame church, which had been destroyed during the Wars of Religion. Inside, it features a trompe-l'œil design with pilasters and arcades imitating marble.
The works of the “Labyrinthe d'Art” are displayed in Joucas along the calades leading to the Atelier des Artistes’ shaded garden. The former washhouse of Joucas is a preserved testimony to the residents’ former everyday life.
