Landscape and Water
The Sentier des Moines begins in Serres and is a 6-kilometre circular hike offering views across the entire Buëch Valley. Other features of the village include vaulted passageways known as “soustets”, which bear witness to its rich historical heritage.
The Lacs de la Germanette are a 15-hectare recreational area near Serres with a supervised bathing area. They also have a water sports area separate from the bathing area, offering pedal boats, stand-up paddleboards and canoes for hire.
The Table d’orientation de Serres offers views of the panorama and the surrounding peaks from the heights beside the Chapelle Bonsecours.
History and Culture
The Méridienne de Serres is a sundial dating from 1882 on the southern façade of the primary school. It is the only known sundial of its kind in the Hautes-Alpes and was listed as a historic monument in 1996.
The Maison du Connétable Lesdiguières is a restored Renaissance building with a polychrome plaster stucco façade. It can be visited free of charge and independently every day throughout the year.
The Église paroissiale de Saint-Arey is a church in the Provençal Romanesque style; its origins date back to the 7th or 9th century.
The Musée auto-moto l’Estanco presents a collection on the history of transport, historic tools and objects from the two World Wars. The museum offers individual guided tours upon prior request.
