Ceillac: Apartments and Holiday Homes

Activities

A marked hiking trail to Lac Miroir is listed as taking two hours uphill, with an elevation gain of 550 m. The Via Ferrata in Ceillac is 550 m long and has an elevation gain of 315 m. It is freely accessible year-round; from the car park at the start of the approach, it is a ten-minute walk to the start of the route. The Via Corda requires mountaineering skills and is reserved for specialists.

The official Tour du Queyras includes a stage from Ceillac to Saint-Véran via the Col des Estronques. Ceillac’s natural ice-climbing area is easily accessible from the Mélèzet car park at the foot of the alpine ski slopes; Cristal Salace, however, is located in the Vallon des Pelouses. The difficulty levels range from 3 to 5+. Fishing is possible in the Mélézet stream in the Ceillac valley. The Tête en l’air paragliding school in Queyras offers tandem flights and courses.

Culture

The present-day building of the Sainte-Cécile Church, which is now used as a chapel, dates from the late 14th or early 15th century.

The traditional residential architecture of the Ceillac valley is compact and appears rather austere. Buildings are often laid out in an L shape; larch wood is used mainly in the upper parts, such as the roof structure, barn gables and roof.

Getting Around

The Montdauphin-Guillestre SNCF railway station is 20 km from Ceillac and is connected to the town by ZOU shuttles.
