Culture
The former Collégiale Notre-Dame, now the parish church of Notre-Dame and Saint-Nicolas, was built between 1705 and 1718 according to Vauban's plans. Its construction therefore dates back to the first quarter of the 18th century. As the former Collégiale Notre-Dame, Saint-Nicolas, it was classified as a historic monument by decree of 14 October 1931.
The Vauban city walls of Briançon stretch for almost three kilometres and are freely accessible all year round.
The Centre d'Art Contemporain organizes two group exhibitions every year: one in summer and one in winter, each lasting around three months.
The Magasin à poudre du Château is a well-preserved powder magazine built between 1692 and 1700 and can be visited.
History
The Fort du Château was converted from an old castle into a genuine fort in the 19th century. It can be visited as part of a guided discovery tour with Briançon's cultural and heritage guides.
Access to the Fort des Salettes is regulated and only possible as part of a guided tour.
