Tours and discoveries
The “Bressuire d’hier et d’aujourd’hui” discovery tour is a 2.5-kilometre city walk starting at the Office de Tourisme du Bocage Bressuirais. It follows green markings on the ground; a free accompanying booklet is available from the Office de Tourisme.
The Cité des Beaumont is a 4.5-kilometre city walk starting at Château de Bressuire. It takes you through the history of Bressuire, from Château de Bressuire to Église Notre-Dame.
The Tèrra Aventura activity “Un musée à ciel ouvert” is a 3.5-kilometre geocaching treasure hunt in Bressuire and takes 2 hours. A treasure hunt at Château de Bressuire is listed for July and August.
Culture and history
Château de Bressuire was built on a rocky outcrop in the 11th century. The grounds are accessible year-round.
Chapelle Saint-Cyprien was founded in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 13th century. It preserves a circular apse in the Early Romanesque style and a cornice with modillions. It is currently used as a cultural venue for exhibitions and events such as concerts.
Église Notre-Dame was founded at the end of the 11th century by Thibault de Beaumont, the lord of Bressuire.
The Musée de Bressuire is located in the town’s former granaries. It presents recent archaeological discoveries as well as works of art, including sculptures, paintings and goldsmiths’ work, most of which were created in the Bressuirais area.
The Maquette Ferroviaire Animée displays a model of a Bressuire neighbourhood on 25 m², including the freight station and the town’s main monuments. In the Crèche Animée de Bressuire, 120 figures move in synchronisation with sound and light.
Nature and trails
La Coulée Verte is a 6.5-kilometre circular walking route that takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. It starts at Château de Bressuire and passes through the Dolo Valley and by Chapelle Saint-Cyprien.

Local life
The Marché des Saveurs takes place every week on Place Dupin in the centre of Bressuire. It offers fresh, local and seasonal products as well as regional cuisine.
