Culture and History

The Église Saint-Quentin in Corbeny is a Romanesque church made of hewn stone. It has three Art Deco stained-glass windows, including one depicting Saint Marcoul. A permanent exhibition can be viewed there by appointment.

Corbeny is also associated with significant historical events: Charlemagne, King of Neustria and Aquitaine, received the holy anointing here. The pilgrimage to the Chapelle et fontaine Saint Marcoul was continued as a tradition by 21 French kings; the chapel itself was rebuilt in its original style after the war.
