Nature and Trails

Part of the municipality of Ancinnes lies within the Forêt domaniale de Perseigne. The Forêt domaniale de Perseigne offers opportunities for hiking, cycling, horse riding and horse-drawn carriage outings. It also has more than 60 km of bridleways, five mountain bike circuits and numerous signposted hiking trails.

The municipal apiary, Rucher d'Ancinnes, is located at the lagoon site and has five beehives and two nucleus hives. It contributes to the pollination of flowering plants and to raising awareness of biodiversity and a healthy environment.

Water and Public Spaces

The municipal Étang de l'Oisellerie is open year-round and free of charge for outdoor activities, including walks, picnics and sports. Fishing at the Étang de l'Oisellerie is permitted from the first weekend in March until 1 November.

The Maison des Randonneurs in the centre of Ancinnes, near the town hall, offers a covered area with tables and benches for picnics, a water connection and public toilets in a freely accessible garden. It is accessible year-round.

Culture and History

The original parts of the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul of Ancinnes date from the 11th and 12th centuries. The church’s Damiens organ was built in 1863 and is now one of the few remaining functioning organs in the region. This organ has around fifteen stops, two keyboards, a pedalboard with 13 keys and 850 pipes.

The Manoir de Couesme was built between the 14th and 16th centuries and preserves architectural features from these periods. It was formerly the seat of the Seigneurie de Couesmes and has been listed as a historic monument since 15 February 2005. The exterior of the Manoir de Couesme can be visited independently; guided tours are available on request. An exhibition of contemporary art is held there every September.
