Culture and History
The manor house on the Route de Cernusson dates from the 15th and 17th centuries. In 1881, the two paintings “Le Sacrifice d’Isaac” and “Jésus chez Marthe et Marie” were mentioned in the choir of the Church of Saint-Fiacre in Trémont and attributed to the painter Thury. The Church of Saint-Fiacre in Trémont also contains a reliquary bust with the head of Saint Fiacrius.
Wine and Local Traditions
Domaine de Villeneuve in Trémont is a tourist wine cellar where visitors are welcomed in a modern, comfortable and hospitable cellar. Wines from the Anjou and Coteaux du Layon appellations are offered; the Cabernet Franc and Chenin grape varieties are mainly cultivated. The offering also includes a playful and sensory tour through the estate’s own vineyards. Trémont is one of the special stops on the Route des Vins Vignobles et Patrimoine du Haut-Layon.
Hiking Trail
The Sentier des Trois Monts is a 12.07 km-long hiking trail with a stated walking time of three hours and yellow markings. The trail leads through the Haut-Layon wine-growing region and offers the opportunity to discover traditional vineyard huts.
Annual Events
Every year on 15 August, a parish ceremony takes place at the Bonne Dame sanctuary. The “Foulées des Trois Monts” race takes place every year on the second Sunday in July.
