The Château de la Morosière was built from stone and tuffeau stone in 1869. In 1795, it became the residence of the Vendée leader Jean Stofflet.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Peter was built by the architect Tessier between 1871 and 1875. The Neo-Gothic building has three naves and stained-glass windows depicting the life of Saint Peter in 36 scenes. The Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Chapel was built in 1844. It serves as the commune’s war memorial and, in addition to the names of those who fell in both world wars, lists the names of 38 residents of Neuvy-en-Mauges who were shot in Avrillé in 1793.
The façades and roofs of Château Le Lavouër, along with its associated outbuildings, have been listed as historic monuments since 25 April 1969. The park of Château Le Lavouër has been classified as a protected site since 28 January 1946. The Croix Mercier was erected in memory of the murder of a travelling merchant named Mercier.
The Croix Bourreau marks a crossroads of old roads which, according to oral tradition, date back to the Wars of Religion. The Manoir de l’Aunay Gontard dates from the classical period of the 17th and 18th centuries and was not destroyed during the Vendée Wars. La Grange aux Jeux announced that it would permanently cease its activities in 2026.

Nature
The Domaine de La Morosière in Neuvy-en-Mauges is designated as an Espace Naturel Sensible (ENS), or sensitive natural area. The 295-hectare area, 21 hectares of which belong to the Domaine, encompasses varied natural landscapes including meadows, farmland, forests, woodland and wetlands.
The La Morosière area is partly open to the public and can be explored on foot through its bocage landscape. A viewing post in the La Morosière forest allows visitors to observe songbirds and larger birds.
Hiking
One starting point for the local hiking trails is located at the car park of the leisure hall. The “La Croix Bourreau, la Brosse et l’Aunay Gontard” hiking route in Neuvy-en-Mauges consists of three walking loops.
The “Les Cabournes” hiking trail passes through Neuvy-en-Mauges and is part of a route through five communes: Jallais, La Chapelle Rousselin, Saint Lézin, Neuvy-en-Mauges and La Poitevinière.
