La Séguinière: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Église Notre-Dame de l'Assomption is protected as a historic monument. Its older section was completely rebuilt during the Renaissance. In the southern and central naves, the church has carved vaults; the contemporary stained-glass windows depict, in part, the Vendée Wars and, in part, the life of Père de Montfort. The choir of the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Toute Patience dates from the 12th or 13th century.

Culture

The Logis de la Marche, built in the 15th century, can be seen from Rue de la Marche. The Moulinard windmill was rebuilt stone by stone after its restoration began in 2008.

Landscape

The Moulin de la Cour is located on the banks of the Moine in the municipality of La Séguinière and offers fishing opportunities. A footbridge provides access to the site from the RD 753, in the La Ménardière area. The site has a fitness trail for visitors aged 12 and over, as well as a picnic area with tables, children's play equipment, and a barbecue. A footpath along the Moine leads to the Grotte de Bibi, which lies in a small clearing at the foot of a rock near a spring.

Circular Trails

The “Au fil de l’eau” circular trail is 6.4 km long and takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. It is signposted with green markings on a white background and passes the restored Vieux Pont.

The “Dans les pas du patrimoine de La Séguinière” circular trail is 4.5 km long and marked with white footprints. It passes an old school, a chapel, a forgotten cross, a fountain, and an old bridge. During the walk, the banks of the Moine offer a peaceful landscape.

The “De l’étang ruiné au château de Tiffauges” circular trail is 15.8 km long and crosses the bocage landscapes, woodland paths, wetlands, and several hamlets of La Séguinière.

Local Life

The La Séguinière weekly market takes place on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Place de la Mairie and offers fresh local products.
