Culture and History

The Chapelle funéraire de la famille Brillet de Villemorge was built in Challain-la-Potherie during the last decade of the 19th century. The rectangular chapel is designed in the Neo-Romanesque style; its stained-glass windows depict scenes from the Passion and Christian symbols.

The Château de Challain-la-Potherie is a neo-Gothic château built in the 19th century, designed by René Hodé and completed in 1854. It has been listed as a historic monument since 2004. Guided tours including a visit to the ground floor and basement are offered during the day.

The Église Notre-Dame stands on the site of an 11th-century church. It was rebuilt from 1862 to 1879: first the nave and bell tower were constructed, followed by the choir.
