The first Saint-Pierre church in Port-Saint-Père was founded in the 7th century by the apostle of Bas-Poitou, Saint-Martin de Vertou. The present Saint-Pierre church is Neo-Gothic and preserves furnishings from the former church, including an 18th-century altar and a baptismal font.

The Circuit des Sables Rouges follows the “Chemin de Bourgneuf”, an old Roman road.

The Basse Lande transmitter and the Abbaye de Buzay are located near Port-Saint-Père; both are considered ruins. The Musée Jules-Verne is also located nearby. The Machines de l'île are in the wider regional area around Port-Saint-Père.
