The Circuit entre bourg et Maine circular route is an 11 km hiking trail that starts at the Tanneries car park.

Nature and trails

Shaded walks are available along the banks of the Maine. The Maine and its slopes are among the most heavily wooded and popular walking areas in the municipality of Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine.

In Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine, there is the Murmures de rochers “Imaginaires et noms insolites” trail. It is 2.4 km long. The Boucle de la Maine starts at the Pont Caffino leisure area or at the Tanneries car park.

At the end of the route, the Parc du Plessis is ideal for a picnic break. The park preserves the remains of a château and features remarkable trees as well as diverse vegetation.

Culture and history

The Chapelle Saint-Sauveur has been completely restored. The Église Notre-Dame features original architecture and original stained-glass windows. The war memorial was erected inside it in 1922. This monument includes an altarpiece with a statue of Joan of Arc in the centre, as well as two marble plaques with lists of names on each side.

The watermills of the Moulin de la Vieille Ecluse are among the oldest watermills still visible today and date from the 15th to the 16th century. La Trélitière is an old weavers' village through which the hiking trail passes.
