The Étangs de Montaigu are open from 1 January to 31 October and are subject to site-specific regulations posted on site. Les étangs de Montaigu cover 1.2 hectares and are enclosed fishing waters. As a natural site, Les étangs de Montaigu are located at La Ferme de Montaigu in Montaigu-les-Bois.

Culture and history
The name Montaigu-les-Bois corresponds to Monte Acutus, literally „Mont Aigu“.
The Église Saint-Martin has been listed as a historic monument since 25 September 1985 and features construction phases from the 13th, 14th and 17th centuries.
The Église de l'Orbehaye in Montaigu-les-Bois has been listed as a historic monument since 25 September 1985. It features construction phases from the 12th, 13th, 17th and 18th centuries.
The Église de l'Orbehaye houses a polychrome and gilded limestone high relief depicting Saint George fighting the dragon. The high relief bears the coat of arms of Montaigu and has been protected as a historic movable cultural object since 21 January 1981.
The Abbaye Notre-Dame de Hambye church is located in the immediate vicinity of Montaigu-les-Bois.
