In Montbray, the Église Saint-Martin houses a high-altar ensemble with a retable, a painting of the Nativity, a statue of Saint Martin and two adoring angels. The church’s surviving choir dates from the late 15th century; its nave and bell tower were rebuilt in 1857.
Culture and history
The Chapelle Saint-Pierre in Montbray is the former chapel of the castle belonging to the lords of Montbray, who included Geoffroy de Montbray, Bishop of Coutances in the 11th century. The chapel dates from the late 15th or early 16th century; a nave was added to it in the 17th century. It houses the protected sculptural group “L'Education de la Vierge” as well as a painting depicting Geoffroy de Montbray presenting the cathedral of Coutances to the Virgin Mary.
The building known as Château d’Argenton replaced the original fortified castle on the surviving castle mound of Montbray. It was built in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Nature
The Étang de Montbray is a natural area, and walks are possible around the pond. Moorhens nest on its banks.
The Aire de jeux de Montbray, a children’s playground, is also located at the Étang de Montbray. It has a swing, a climbing wall, a slide and a spring rider. At the Étang de Montbray, tables for eating are available outdoors in the shade of a weeping willow.
