In Les Loges-Saulces, the 12.5-kilometre Les Saulces circular hiking trail crosses a bridge over the Baize and follows a path above the valley. This circular trail also includes a short section described as a “vegetation tunnel”. Les Saulces is listed as a hiking route in the Suisse Normande hiking directory.

Landscape

Les Loges-Saulces lies on the boundary between flat land and the beginning of more pronounced relief. Numerous springs emerge along the paths in the surrounding area.

History and culture

The Romanesque section and the choir of the Church of Saint Maurice have 12th-century walls. The church’s small round-arched windows were replaced by wider window openings in the 19th century. La Cour-des-Loges is the place where a high court sat in the Middle Ages.

Cemetery

Four Welsh soldiers who were killed on 16 August 1944 during the liberation of the commune are buried in the Les Loges-Saulces cemetery. One of the Commonwealth war graves from 1939 to 1945 in the cemetery is unidentified. The Commonwealth graves lie northeast of the church tower.
