Villons-Les-Buissons: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Place Helland is named after Lieutenant Johannes Helland, who is considered the first Norwegian pilot to land in France after the Allied invasion. History

A plaque at the Monument to the Norwegian Fighters bears the names of 52 Norwegian soldiers who were killed during the Normandy landings. The Monument to the Norwegian Fighters of the Second World War stands east of the village at the intersection with the D79.

The stele commemorating Advanced Landing Ground B-16 recalls the forward airfield B-16 in Villons-les-Buissons. Supermarine Spitfires of the Royal Air Force's 132nd Wing began landing at the B-16 airfield on 20 July 1944. The B-16 stele shows a plan of the airfield; none of its original structural traces remain today.

The Monument to the 9th Canadian Infantry Brigade commemorates the brigade's fighting in Villons-les-Buissons. It stands alongside the D220 at the southern exit of the village.
